My name is Ntombifuthi Mpungose and I am currently currently in my final year of Speech Therapy. I am extremely grateful to UYDF for funding my education; it is incredible to know that there are people who care about others.

Last year was a very stressful year for my peers who either were not successful in receiving funding for the year, or their allowances hadn’t been cleared. I, on the other hand, was at ease knowing that I would receive my funding on time without fail. Knowing that my tuition fees will be covered eliminates a huge amount of stress as a student.

Not having money for food is a painful experience at University and you are also expected to do your best. The monthly allowances I receive help me a lot, and there is nothing I can say to describe how thankful I am.

In 2017, my father suffered a stroke and has since lost his ability to communicate. He was also diagnosed with Aphasia, caused by brain damage. Since then, he has been doing much better with his speech therapy.

Lastly, I would like to thank Umthombo for providing the financial support I needed. I will forever be grateful.
